To answer the question you must simplify the left side.
1.   7x-3+4x+4 
In the first step, I simplified the parentheses in 4x+4
2.   7x+4x-3+4
In the next step, I used the distributive property to group the like terms.
3. 11x-7
I solved the right side of the equations to get 11x-7
