when we say that 2y is 2 times greater than y, this means that if we divide 2y by 2 we will get the y.

Similarly, to know the decimal that is less that 0.8 by 10 times, simply divide 0.8 by 10 as follows:
decimal = 0.8 / 10 = 0.08

This means that 0.8 is 10 times larger than 0.08
